This is a Compilation CD of great memorable performances, recordings and events dating from 2003-2017 of my career.
When Dr. Teodrous Avery, Saxophonist (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Roy Hargrove, Leela James, Roy Ayers, Betty Carter, etc.), was the guest artist at City College of San Francisco in December 2016, we went into the studio the next day to record “DAVID’S INDY (INDIANAPOLIS) BLUES” (ORIGINAL DEDICATED TO INDIANAPOLIS), “DEAR JOHN” (DEDICATED TO FREDDIE HUBBARD), “KENTUCKY OYSTERS” (DEDICATED TO DR. DAVID BAKER). This recording included stellar famous recording artist and a member of the SF ALL STAR BIG BAND, Pianist Glen Pearson (Regina Belle, Jimmy Scott, Ernestine Anderson, Dianne Reeves, Marlena Shaw, etc.), Bassist Jeff Chambers (Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Hubbard, Eddie Harris, Tommy Flanagan, Joe Henderson, etc.), Drummer Akira Tana (Paquito D’Rivera, Art Farmer, Lena Horne, Milt Jackson, J.J. Johnson, etc.).

When I was teaching Jazz Studies at City College of San Francisco I played in my colleague and good friend S. Kwaku Daddy’s band recording the CD “THE JOURNEY” live at Scalas Restaurant in Graton, CA in 2003 along with great Saxophonist/Flautist Charles McCarthy, Bassist Walter Savage, and Guitarist Lawrence Ferrara.
Internationally known Master Drummer and folklorist, S. Kwaku Daddy, introduces traditional culture, music, dance and stories of Ghana, Africa. Kwaku was born and raised in Ghana, and has performed with world class artists in jazz, rhythm and blues and reggae, including Buddy Rich, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Bellson and Randy Weston, etc.

When my boyhood friend Melvin Rhyne, from Indpls, Ind., was the guest artist at City College of San Francisco in Dec, 2012, we went into the studio the next day to record several songs including his sister dynamic vocalist Carol Rhyne-Harris singing “ALL OF YOU” dedicated to her late brother Melvin Rhyne. Along with the stellar famous recording artist and members of the SF ALL STAR BIG BAND, Drummer Dr. Willis Kirk (Charlie Parker, Wes Montgomery, etc.), Guitarist Calvin Keys (Ahmad Jamal, Ray Charles, etc.), Saxophonist Leon Williams (Gil Scott-Heron, Kenny Burrell), this was a once in a lifetime great experience. This may have been Hammond B-3 Organist Melvin Rhyne’s (Wes and Buddy Montgomery, BB King, Roland Kirk, etc.) last recording before he passed away in March, 2013.
Singer/Songwriter/Dancer ELIZABETH CLEE, native San Franciscan, and her sensational Special Guest Vocalist SEBASTIAN DIAZ invited me to record on their new CD “AMOR DE MIS SUENOS (LOVE OF MY DREAMS), “QUIEN SERA?/SWAY (WHO COULD IT BE ?) SI TU ME DEJAS ?, and HISTORIA DE UN AMOR” (HISTORY OF A LOVE) in 2016. David Austin, a versatile brilliant and dynamic Pianist/Arranger, together with the great Bassist/Guitarist, Jerry Stucker, Drummer Bob Blankenship and Latin Percussionist/Conga player Roberto Quintana helped to produce memorable music of Spanish heritage/culture.
Elizabeth has performed with the group “SHADES OF GRACE”. San Francisco's, THE PLUSH ROOM, PURPLE ONION, THE GREAT AMERICAN MUSIC HALL, FAIRMONT and FLAMINGO HOTEL.

DR. DAVID HARDIMAN, SR., Trumpet and Flugelhorn, Pianist, Professor of Theory, Harmony, Jazz Music History, Adjudicator, the band’s leader, is known as a Composer/Arranger. He comes from Indianapolis, where his early jazz training was developed with other home town associates Dr. Willis Kirk, Dr. David Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Dr. Larry Ridley, and James Spaulding. David is the leader of “The San Francisco All Star Big Band” (42 years) and Director of “The African American Jazz Caucus Dance Band” (IAJE), “Saint Gabriel’s Celestial Brass Band”, Salsa Bands, and has PLAYED IN BANDS ACCOMPANYING: JACKIE WILSON, "THE DELLS", "THE HONEY CONES", DONNY HATHAWAY, RED PRYSOCK, JOHNNIE RAY, GLADYS KNIGHT AND THE PIPS, NANCY WILSON, TONY BENNETT, PEGGY LEE, JIMMY WITHERSPOON, MUSICAL THEATER SHOWS:” SOPHISTICATED LADIES”, etc. David received a B.M. degree in Music Education from Indiana University and a M.M. from Butler University, Indianapolis, Ind., and a W.M.H.D.A. Honorary Doctorate from Martin University, Indianapolis, Ind. David has been an Educator in the Indianapolis Public Schools for 11 years before moving to Berkeley, CA, and teaching in the Berkeley Public Schools, Alameda and Contra Costa Colleges. He retired as Professor Emeritus of Jazz Studies at City College of San Francisco after teaching 30 years totaling 45 years.
